798 Art Zone

The 798 Art Zone was originally built to share manufacturing technology between the Soviet Union and China and designed by East German architects. Abandoned for many years, the stark architecture is now juxtaposed against the edgy renovations of its recent artistic rebirth. It is now a new landmark and centre for the new urban culture of Beijing. The Zone features a design house, publishing house, art exhibitions, performance spaces, artist studios, fashion shop, bar, bakery and art shops.
