Great Wall Jinshanling

The Great Wall of China was commenced in the 5th century and thereafter rebuilt and extended to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groups and later the Mongol empire. The wall stretches for thousands of kilometres. The Jinshangling section is built across the tops of a spectacular mountain range, with impressive towers and soldiers living quarters on the peaks. The wall features defensive partitions and firing window. It has stairs and ski lift to get onto and off the wall.
